How FASENRA Works

FASENRA helps control severe asthma by reducing specialized white blood cells called eosinophils. These cells can trigger inflammation in the lungs and airway if they become too abundant. FASENRA has been clinically proven to improve lung function, reduce severe asthma attacks by up to 51 percent, and even reduce reliance on daily oral steroid medications.

Treatment with FASENRA

FASENRA injections are given by your asthma doctor in their office. When you first start treatment, you will receive an injection every 4 weeks. After your third injection, you will receive maintenance injections every 8 weeks. You will need to continue using your regular asthma medications while using FASENRA, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Is FASENRA Safe?

FASENRA is FDA-approved for the treatment of severe asthma in patients age 12 and up. The safety and effectiveness of FASENRA was established by the largest clinical trial program for targeted therapies in eosinophilic asthma. The most common side effects of FASENRA are headache and sore throat, though most serious side effects including allergic reactions are possible. Since you will be receiving your injections under the care of an experienced asthma doctor, any side effects can be addressed promptly.
